Making Truth Claims
摘要
Lynn Z. Bloom wrote that writers of nonfiction live “by a single ethical standard”: to tell the literal truth as well as the larger Truth. Similarly, Philippe Lejeune argues that writers of nonfiction establish a pact or contract with their readers to tell the truth. This chapter explores the complexities of telling the truth; it also discusses some techniques for navigating the blurry border between nonfiction and fiction.
