Ethics and Values of Mercy A. Oduyoye’s Theology of Liberation
摘要
This chapter builds upon Oduyoye’s ideas regarding relationality, power, and humanity. By exploring her ethics and thoughts, this text is forging a new path for the future. Thus, I pose the following question: After more than 30 years of the Circle’s existence, what roles could the African proverbs Sankofa and endleleni play in paving the way forward? The Sankofa proverb signifies the pursuit of valuable insights from our past knowledge, while endleleni, meaning “on the road,” symbolizes resilience, bravery, and strength. To answer this question, we will employ the indigenous storytelling methodology, thoroughly examining the aforementioned proverbs in relation to our future trajectory.
