“A Beautiful Black Pearl Bead”: Dube’s Poetics of Spiritual Esthetics of Dark Luminosity

In this chapter, I have argued that Musa’s stumbling block nature of blackness encompasses both self-affirmation and radical agapeic empathic recognition of equality and promotion of justice within inclusive difference. It involves the construction of a dark planetary community that reimagines life for the flourishing of God, humanity, and all things. I have engaged with Dube’s work through a critical pentecostalicity stumbling block oralitological (theoretical-pragmatic) framework, which allows for examining blackness within the context of the postcolonial rainbow’s equal colors.
