Unveiling Hidden Narratives: Musa Dube’s Postcolonial Feminist Lens on Biblical Studies

  • Pierre Célestin Musoni

摘要

Musa Dube’s theological endeavors contribute to and challenge how African Biblical Studies are done. This chapter gives readers a flavor of her theological thoughts. It is in no case exhaustive of the deep analyses that Dube has made over the years. However, for a curious mind, the discussion below will open a way to start engaging with her questions and the answers she brought to the table. In this chapter, Dube’s work serves as a critical lens through which the colonial project and its hidden narratives on biblical interpretation are exposed. Postcolonial Feminism, her methodological framework, enables her to wrestle with two patriarchal systems, Eurocentrism and indigenous patriarchy, limiting gender equity. This framework allows her to explore various themes of identity, diasporic experience, and resistance while amplifying subaltern voices.
