The comprehensive international unification in the relations of public law and private law has outstanding importance. With respect to the fact that the rules concerning economic rights, registration and ownership requirements vary significantly from country to country, the contracting States of the Vienna Convention (1980) on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods removed ‘ships, vessels, hovercraft and aircraft’ from its scope [Article 2 e)]. This deficiency was rectified by the Convention adopted in Cape Town on 16 November 2001, which laid the foundations of a new, uniform legal system of trade.
