Coded Raman Spectroscopy Using Spatial Light Modulators

This chapter provides an overview of advances in Raman spectroscopy resulting from the use of spatial light modulators (SLMs). We discuss the use of SLMs in coded aperture Raman spectroscopy to increase throughput and signal-to-noise ratio and to reduce the dimensionality of spectroscopic data for rapid analysis. We also discuss the use of SLMs to produce multifoci Raman images and optical traps and to acquire Raman signals through turbid media. Finally, we review techniques that use SLMs to optimize the incident radiation for coherent anti-stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS) and stimulated Raman spectroscopy (SRS).
