Compressive coded-aperture light field imaging (CALFI) is a method that leverages the principles of compressive sensing and coded-aperture imaging to capture high-resolution light fields using a single sensor. In this technique, a coded mask is positioned between the aperture plane and the sensor, where it modulates the incoming light rays prior to projection onto the sensor, as a two-dimensional coded image. The utilization of compressive sensing algorithms then enables the reconstruction of high-resolution light fields from the projected image. Compressive CALFI results in an efficient and cost-effective means for acquiring high-resolution light field data. In this chapter, we will explore the image formation model, reconstruction algorithms, coded-aperture optimization, and example applications utilizing CALFI.
