Historical, Definitional, and Implementational Issues of Financial Services Regulation in a Small Jurisdiction
摘要
This paper provides a discussion about certain definitional and historical context issues revolving around the generic term of “regulation,” and particularly financial services (FS) regulation. The importance of familiarity with salient happenings in the chronicles of financial services regulation, and the great difficulty in arriving at clear pictures of how, and which, attributes can be appended to desired regulatory formats, are discussed and reflected in the results of a study of facets of these issues as carried out in 2021 in a small FS jurisdiction.
