摘要

During the past years business environment changed and many businesses adapted through creating new and different markets. In parallel, a need arose for critical information explaining important human factors during the decision-making process. Therefore, this paper aims to discover the prevalence of decision-making style (intuitive or analytical) in different studies and how that knowledge can be incorporated in occupational context. The methodology for the conceptual paper is based on rapid review. A total of 13 studies were found that fitted several criteria (comparison of different decision-making types in occupational setting), while the final number of examined studies was 10. The main findings are that intuition is often utilized in the first steps of decision-making process while exploring potential topics and afterwards analytical style is used for operationalization of topics for testing. Interesting finding is that intuitive style is being utilized again when managers are faced with final decisions. The aim of the paper is to provide recommendations for human factors that managers can use for decision making in occupational context. As such, it outlines key steps that managers need to do during decision making in order to transfer these findings to occupational safety and improve well-being of employees.
