Terminology

This chapter presents the background and framework of the book. It defines key terms, concepts and phenomena relating to the discussions in this volume, such as crisis, globalisation, integration, disintegration, harmonisation, convergence and legal transplants. Since there is no widely-accepted, consensual definition of these terms, it is important to provide definitions at the beginning of this book so that key concepts and expressions are not misunderstood.
