Substantiation of the Safety of Applying Mobile Communication Technologies for Train Automation

摘要

The purpose of the study is to reveal a promising approach to substantiating the safety of using mobile communication technologies for automating train traffic. The study applies methods of causal analysis in accordance with international standards for the management of a complex of interrelated indicators of reliability, availability, maintainability, safety and cost at all stages of the life cycle of railway transport facilities. As a result of the study, the process of substantiating the safety of the mobile railway telecommunication subsystem as part of the train traffic control system is proposed, threats to the data transmission system of the selected subsystem and protection measures against them are considered. The causes of threats are dangerous events, the occurrence of which is caused by the functioning of the communication network at different stages of its life cycle, as well as the impact of physical and anthropogenic components of the external environment. The proposed approach makes it possible to justify the safety of using the mobile railway telecommunication subsystem as part of the train traffic control system in automated and automatic modes.
