Results of the Survey the Railway Bridge of the Northern Latitude Railway Line

The results of the survey of the elements and nodes of the spans of the railway bridge as part of the Northern Latitudinal Railway are given. The necessity of the inspection was caused by the forced prolonged interruption in the construction process caused firstly by the change of a contracting organization and then by the restrictions due to COVID-19. In order to establish the technical condition of the main structures of the bridge, a set of visual and instrumental inspections was performed. It was found out that some of the bolt connections of the bridge had not been timely covered with anticorrosion coating and therefore special attention was paid to experimental examination of bolt sets used to connect individual elements of the bridge. The bolt sets selected from the bridge structure were examined in laboratory conditions and the mechanical properties of the bolts, including resistance to delayed brittle fracture, were determined. It was found that the bolt sets according to their mechanical properties meet the standard requirements and, accordingly, there is no need to replace the bolt sets and dismantle the bridge structures, further bridge construction is possible without performing additional works.
