Creation of New Thin Silk Fiber Systems from “Chinese 108” and “YA-120” Breeds of Mulberry Silk Worm

摘要

High efficiency is achieved by selecting silk fiber according to its technological characteristics, determining the correlation between silk fiber and reproductive, cocoon productivity characteristics, and using them in selection processes. It is of great scientific and practical importance to create breeds and industrial hy-brids with high technological indicators of fiber that meet the requirements of the world silk market and silk industry, and to improve the genetics and selection processes of the mulberry silkworm. Among the sericulture regions of Central Asia, this is the only living collection, and for many years breeds from different geographical zones—Japan, Korea, China, India, Vietnam, Romania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Russia and other countries have been brought to it. The living collection of mulberry silkworm breeds is a unique collection of the world's gene pool, an important scientific and agricultural object. As a result of the conducted scientific research, the production of raw silk in the regional “Ipakchi 1” and “Ipakchi 2” breeds was 42.14–46.36%, the production of silk products was 45.95–51.64%, the metric number of the fiber was 3247 m/g—increased to 3424 m/g. East Asian breeds (“Chinese 108”, “YA-120”) differed from other breeds with an increase in the total length of the fiber (up to 642–1333 m) and the thinness of the cocoon fiber (up to 3703–4807 m/g units).
