Introducing Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems into Urban Road and Transport Infrastructure

In the modern world, man and the transport system are inextricably linked, interacting through innovative, modern information technologies. The development of intelligent transport systems makes it possible to organize real-time management of traffic and pedestrian flows. The relevance of this work is explained by the fact that modern traffic management requires a completely different level of awareness, it is necessary not only to control the movement of the car itself, but also the surrounding traffic situation. The purpose of this work is to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of cooperative intelligent transport systems. The subject of the work is development and introduction of cooperative intelligent transport systems for management, improvement and enhancement of road traffic safety and increased throughput of motor roads, using the example of a section of the road and street network in Rostov-on-Don. As part of the study, implemented communication technologies in the field of cooperative intelligent transport systems were examined, some parts of road and street network were surveyed to build a simulation model, the impact on the traffic flow characteristics after the implementation of the studied systems was determined.
