Prospects for Voice-Activated Robotic Assistants

Voice interfaces are penetrating deeper into business processes, and today a user can be surprised not by a robot's voice in a telephone receiver, but by its good joke or a witty phrase. With the help of voice assistants, business optimizes and speeds up interaction with customers, many users have an aversion to “soulless interlocutors” though. Voice assistants are capable of handling large databases in a short period of time. Thousands of contacts per day is a real database processing speed that helps reduce the cost of a potential customer's contact with a company. Voice assistants are compatible with smartphones, computers, tablets, speakers and cars. The main convenience is their interaction with the person: the more commands are given, the better they understand their preferences and interests. It is very easy to say commands while driving, with a child in arms, while cooking. The purpose of this article is to consider the prospects for the use of voice assistant robots. To achieve this goal, the following methods were used: analysis of literature on the research topic, graphical and tabular method, method of classification, comparison and generalization. The result of the study was the consideration of the pros and cons of voice assistants, as well as the possibilities of their use at the present stage.
