Prerequisites for the Development of the Transport and Logistics System of Russia

The paper considers the prerequisites for the development of the transport and logistics potential of Russia, identifies the main competitive advantages in comparison with similar systems in international trade. It is noted that the transport industry may not be ready to realize all potential opportunities and will be a limiting factor that already took place in November 2021 in the Far East. The underinvestment in the development of transport infrastructure was identified as a key problem, and a comparison was made with the advanced countries of the world economy. It is also pointed out that there is a lack of private initiative in expanding the activities of individual elements of the transport and logistics system. In conclusion, as one of the measures, in addition to increasing funding, it is proposed to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the functioning of the transport and logistics sector from a systematic perspective in order to form an integral set of interrelated elements through organizational and management measures with the minimum possible material costs.
