Safety and Security Knowledge Management

The chapter presents the field of employee safety and security, its historical progress and the current state of prevention actions and training based on case studies of employees in industrial tourism. Employee safety and security refer to the physical aspect (appropriate working conditions and organisational processes, physical attacks on employees), psychological safety and security, and providing workers’ rights. Different subjects and objects can endanger employees; however, they can handle challenging conditions if adequately equipped with safety and security knowledge. From a sample of 17 organisations from the UK, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia, we will present actions taken to ensure employee safety and security within industrial tourism and list possible training to acquire and strengthen safety and security knowledge.
