Childhoods in Bioarchaeology: The Importance of Categorizing and Analyzing Age

  • Meredith Ellis

摘要

This chapter explores how using culturally contextual age categories can offer more nuanced understandings of subadult skeletal remains from archaeological sites. Through the case study of the ninteenth century Spring Street Presbyterian Church in Lower Manhattan, this chapter raises the necessity for both explaining and standardizing our approach to talking about age in the past.
