Mandibular Retromolar Pad Reduction

The retromolar pad area is an important element for the support and achieving an effective marginal seal in case of a complete denture for an edentulous mandible. Hence, providing healthy and proper tissue in this area is critical for successful prosthetic treatment. Different surgical methods have been introduced for the management of tissue in this area, especially methods for the reduction of excessive and pathologic tissues. In this chapter, we discuss the surgical method of retromandibular pad reduction.
