Impacted Canines: Etiology, Incidence, Diagnosis, and Surgical Management
摘要
This chapter explores the etiology and incidence, location and prognosis, and the sequelae of the impacted canine on the oral environment. Techniques to expose both facially and palatally impacted maxillary canines as well as surgical approaches to impacted mandibular canines are discussed and illustrated. The often-overlooked role of vertical anchorage will also be explored, and tips on managing this challenging aspect of treatment are provided.
