This chapter provides a field manual for designing, writing, and publishing rigorous case reports and case series in oral and maxillofacial surgery. It integrates ethics, consent, and patient privacy with contemporary reporting standards to make cases reproducible, comparable, and clinically legible. The framework centers on EQUATOR-linked guidelines—CARE for case reports; SCARE 2023 and PROCESS 2023 for surgical case reports and case series; and STROCSS 2024 for observational surgical studies—augmented by TIDieR for intervention description and SUPER for operative technique transparency. Innovation paths are mapped using IDEAL/IDEAL-D, while aesthetic medicine work is aligned to CREAM. Specialty taxonomies and validated PROMs (FACE-Q family) anchor outcomes to patient-important measures. Practical templates show how to register studies (Research Registry UIN), de-identify images, and present effect-and-precision statistics suited to small-N designs. Collectively, these tools help maxillofacial surgeons turn single cases into cumulative, trustworthy evidence while safeguarding patients and meeting current editorial expectations.
