Safety of Cell Products in Craniomaxillofacial Bone Regeneration

Regeneration of the craniomaxillofacial region with high functional complexities is challenging worldwide. Recent advances in using cell-mediated approaches to treat oral and maxillofacial defects are promising. This chapter describes all aspects of safety considerations using cell products in craniomaxillofacial bone regeneration. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory pathways for humans are discussed. We pinpointed pitfalls and considerations as crucial factors for developing cell products in advance.
