The integration of robotics in oral and maxillofacial surgery and implantology has revolutionized the field by enhancing surgical precision, control, and patient outcomes. Advanced robotic systems, such as the da Vinci surgical system and the Yomi haptic robotic implant system, enable surgeons to perform complex procedures like dental implant placement, orthognathic surgery, and transoral tumor resection with greater accuracy and minimal invasiveness. These technologies leverage cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for precise 3D planning and real-time guidance, reducing trauma, accelerating recovery, and improving aesthetic and functional results. Despite challenges such as high costs, learning curves, and lack of tactile feedback, robotic systems have significantly advanced the standard of care. This chapter explores the evolution, applications, benefits, and limitations of robotics in oral and maxillofacial surgery, highlighting their transformative impact on patient-centered care.
