Conventional Technologies for Scaffold Fabrication
摘要
Biofabrication technologies can be categorized as conventional and innovative. This chapter explores the technical details, current limitations, potential solutions, the variety of materials, and clinical application of conventional biofabrication methods. Solvent casting and particle leaching, freeze drying, thermally induced phase separation, gas foaming, powder-forming, sol-gel, and electrospinning are discussed as relatively fewer complex technologies for development of porous scaffolds. The exterior of scaffolds fabricated via conventional methods is defined by the outline of selected molds and not the defect site.
