Bone Neoplasms of the Head and Neck Region
摘要
Bone neoplasms of the head and neck region comprise a diverse group of tumors traditionally classified based on the matrix produced by neoplastic cells. However, with the progression of molecular studies, ancillary tests can be used for more accurate classification of some of these tumors based on genetic profiles. Moreover, it should be emphasized that the diagnosis of bone tumors needs a multidisciplinary team composed of a pathologist, radiologist, oncosurgeon, and medical and radiation oncologist. The general characteristics of the most prevalent bone neoplasms of the head and neck region are discussed in this chapter.
