Revolutionizing Rhinoplasty: Exploring Future Trends and New Horizons
摘要
Cosmetic procedures like rhinoplasty are prevalent. Rhinoplasty is one of the most challenging operations due to its complexity and the procedure’s substantial esthetic and functional implications. The development of techniques has progressed significantly in recent years. Plastic surgery practice has increasingly incorporated artificial intelligence (AI) and simulation systems in recent years. Rhinoplasty can potentially benefit from AI and simulation models. 3D simulation models and AI models can revolutionize rhinoplasty. In addition to being useful in preoperative planning, simulations can also be helpful for intraoperative planning, postoperative evaluation, and postoperative decision-making. Additionally, AI models can be taught to perform tasks that are either time-consuming or challenging for surgeons. Rhinoplasty can now be assessed better preoperatively using 3D imaging. Planning should begin with reconstructing the aberrant substructure in complex cases with irregular bony support. Regenerating cartilage after a defect and repairing cartilage defects have been made possible through tissue engineering. A substantial increase in the number of nasal reconstructions following oncological resections, traumas, or rhinoplasty presents a challenge for nasal cartilage regeneration. This perspective makes 3D printing an essential technology for addressing nasal cartilage regeneration since it allows doctors to fabricate complex, customized tissue-engineered constructs by combining patient images and computer-aided deposition of cells and biomaterials.
