Minimally Invasive Genioplasty
摘要
Chin surgery, whether in the context of orthognathic surgery or as an independent surgical intervention, is one of the most common aesthetic surgical procedures. The osteotomy and subsequent mobilization and fixation of the chin in the desired position allows the bone tissue and the soft tissue that encompasses it to be projected into the three positions in space. Thus, we can correct both excesses and deficits of projection, asymmetries in the frontal plane, etc. Over the years, the surgical technique of mentoplasty has been refined and the emergence of new technologies such as three-dimensional digital planning, three-dimensional printing of cutting guides, and customized miniplates, as well as the popularization of the piezoelectric scalpel, define the concept of minimally invasive surgery, wich is not only reserved for surgical approaches through small incisions.
