摘要

Facial reconstructive and aesthetic surgery has experienced significant advancements by integrating 3D computer-assisted design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technologies into surgical procedures. Genioplasty and chin augmentation procedures are among the most frequent maxillofacial surgeries and are crucial in achieving the desired aesthetic and facial appearance outcomes. 3D printing technology enables the fabrication of patient-specific chin prostheses and surgical guides with unparalleled precision and accuracy. Clinical outcomes associated with customized 3D-printed chin prostheses and guided genioplasty procedures have demonstrated promising results, improving patient aesthetic and functional outcomes. Nevertheless, challenges such as material selection, long-term durability, and cost-effectiveness remain areas of ongoing research and development. By examining the entire workflow from design to fabrication, this chapter provides valuable insights into the advancements in customized 3D printed chin prostheses and guided genioplasty procedures, highlighting their potential to enhance patient outcomes and expand the possibilities for facial reconstruction surgery.
