Implant Restoration Emergence Profile and 3D Implant Positioning
摘要
One of the clinician’s biggest challenge is to restore and achieve a natural-looking single anterior tooth in the esthetic area. Meticulous case selection and proper execution of the surgical protocol are crucial steps. The natural beauty of an implant crown restoration, particularly a single tooth, does not only involve mimicking the neighboring natural tooth but also maintaining the soft tissue color and contour. With today’s advanced techniques and materials, a well-experienced and skilled laboratory technician can remake a poorly done crown restoration, however, in cases where soft tissue quality and quantity are poor due to factors such as improper implant position, thin gingival phenotype, or absence of keratinized gingiva, a clinician’s expertise or an interdisciplinary practice is required. Therefore, lacking of advanced skills and knowledge, though it is single implant crown restoration, achieving a desirable emergence profile in esthetic area may continue as a dilemma in the field of implant dentistry.
