摘要

Emergencies in oral and maxillofacial surgery are unpredictable events that demand immediate attention and effective management to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. Emergencies may arise in this surgical procedure, including allergic reactions, cardiovascular events, respiratory distress, stress-related incidents, neurological complications, bleeding disorders, and drug-related complications. Each type of emergency is described in detail, covering their clinical presentation, signs, symptoms, and appropriate treatment strategies. Additionally, this chapter highlights the importance of preventive measures, preparedness, and communication within the surgical team to mitigate the impact of emergencies. By equipping oral and maxillofacial surgeons with a comprehensive understanding of emergency management, this chapter aims to contribute to safer and more successful surgical practices in this field.
