Salivary Gland Lesions and Tumors

摘要

Salivary gland tumors encompass a wide array of benign and malignant neoplasms that have considerable variability in their presentation, biologic behavior, and responsiveness to treatments. Surgery has been both the historical and contemporary cornerstone of management of salivary gland pathology, both benign and malignant. Surgeons treating salivary gland pathology must be facile with a multitude of diagnostics, surgical procedures, and nuances in tumor presentation and biology to effectively manage patients presenting with salivary gland tumors. This chapter will discuss the management principles and philosophies germane to salivary gland neoplasms affecting multiple anatomical subsites within the head and neck.
