Transoral Removal of Salivary Stones
摘要
Sialolithiasis, or salivary stones, vary considerably in size, shape, consistency, and position within the ductal system of the major salivary glands (the submandibular and parotid salivary glands). The clinical presentation is generally that of obstructive sialadenitis, in which a person may experience painful swelling of the affected gland when eating, or acute suppurative sialadenitis as a result of the obstruction [1]. Delayed treatment of this suppurative sialadenitis may result in abscess formation within the fascial neck spaces.
