Multi-Omics Databases
摘要
The omics technology has been increasingly used in medical research since the emergence of the next-generation sequencing technology and big data analysis. It aims to understand the impacts of genomics and other omics, such as proteomics and transcriptomics, on human health and cellular processes. The integration and analysis of multi-omics data contribute to precision medicine and drug development by unveiling the relationships between the body molecules and the targeted treatment. The data sets used by scientists and researchers to conduct multi-omics analysis can be obtained from different resources, such as biobanks and publicly available data repositories. However, these data sets need to be collected, organized and standardized to be accessible to researchers for more analysis and exploration. This chapter reviews thirty-six multi-omics databases that contain data sets and, in some portals, provide analysis and visualization tools. Furthermore, this chapter summarizes the omics collected in these databases and their application fields.
