A Systematic Literature Review on Mercantilism

To dive into the existing corpus on the history of mercantilism, a systematic literature review seemed the most appropriate method. To attain a microscopic understanding, this paper attempts to delineate mercantilist writers and approaches in understanding the history of mercantilism through a systematic literature review. The Systematic Literature Review includes 18 documents, indexed in Scopus database. The strategy employed was “Mercantilism” AND (“Economic History” OR “Economic Thought”). Content analysis was conducted on the procured 18 documents. The systematic review sheds light on prominent mercantilist writers and various approaches in understanding the history of mercantilism. An additional impression of this study is that it is a comprehensive study on the collected corpus, however the search was limited to only one database and grey literature was excluded.
