Neurodiversity and Postdigital Education

The concept of Neurodiversity and the influence of postdigital education highlight the intertwined nature of the digital and non-digital worlds. The framing of Neurodiversity and its associated umbrella of neurological differences has been subject to deficit medical models of intervention, which, when utilised in the digital world for learning and education purposes, can harm or hinder the agency and rights of the neurodivergent community or individuals. There has been a lack of research into the interplay between humans, technology, and the nature of non-human relationships which impact online and real word discourses in Neurodiversity. Theoretical considerations within Posthumanism and New Materialism provide researchers and academics with a broader conceptualisation of postdigital Neurodiversity by challenging the traditional subject/object divide.
