Postdigital Biopolitics

Biopolitics is a concept, practice, field of study, and interpretive key used to understand the intersections of power and life, the making and protection of life, and the intricate ways in which these processes are related to the proliferation of forms of death. Biopolitics is conceptually and politically messy, with disputed points of origin. Postdigital biopolitics adds to this complexity by urgently confronting and reanimating long-standing questions about life itself, the ever-complex ecologies of life and death, and their entanglement with biotechnological and biomedical innovations, surveillance, technologies of optimization, and emerging biopolitical forms of control. Postdigital biopolitics offers a framework for questioning, understanding, and refusing these processes that reconfigure life itself and the ways in which power is administered over it.
