Praxis
摘要
The concept of praxis plays a rich and vibrant role within a range of theoretical frameworks, including postdigitalism. According to the phrase ‘from theory to praxis’, theory enriches practical conduct by informing the agent’s judgment about the proper ends of inquiry and action. Defenders of praxis object to instrumental rationality, scientism, and positivism, particularly to their grounding concepts of means-end optimization, fact-value dichotomy, and universal epistemology. Praxis improves scholarly research by bringing thick values and critical treatment to bear on the purposes of inquiry, including ethical analysis, immanent critique, emancipatory knowledge, and transdisciplinarity.
