Biopolitics is a framework for examining how power and capital create, shape, react to, regulate, demarcate, and protect life, and how these same dynamics facilitate the production of forms of death. Educational theorists have used this framework to discern the operation of power and capital in educational encounters with attention to how institutions reinforce biopower—a power over life. They have also considered the ways that educational encounters and practice can aid an affirmative biopolitics whereby life creates a power that subverts and breaks with the social relations, rationalities, and modes of production of capitalism. The postdigital extends this framework in ways that reconceptualize biopolitical control, pointing to the ubiquitous and entangled digital, informational, and technological infrastructures that structure educational life and processes of subjection. A postdigital biopolitics of education—as framework and practice—must register and imagine possibilities for forms of subjectivation that experiment with and organize new ways of being, studying, thinking, feeling, and relating, outside and against the logic of capital.

摘要
