Robotic Joint Torque Sensors: A Review

The torque sensor is comparable to a mechanical fuse in design and ensures precise measurement. Since the torque sensor is one of the weakest parts of the driveline, choosing the proper one is crucial to preventing mechanical or unintentional failure in robots. At the same time, the accuracy of the torque sensor may be impacted by the uncertainty of the torque data. There are various types of torque sensors that can be used in robotic joints to measure torque between joints. This article compares various torque sensors and discusses them in detail. This study will help researchers choose the right torque sensors for robotic joints.
