Fundamentals of Imaging

Imaging devices collect light reflected from objects in a scene and create a two-dimensional image. To use an image to gain information about the scene, we need to understand the process by which the image is created. This process is reversible, meaning that we can use the image to reconstruct the three-dimensional scene.
