The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in major disruptions to the manner in which people with cancer were diagnosed, treated and supported post-treatment across Europe. This chapter considers the effect of the pandemic on screening, diagnostic procedures, surgery, radiotherapy, systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) delivery and cancer follow-up and support. The author considers the evidence for assessing the extent of this disruption, effective strategies for combating this and the likely longer-term effects on cancer care as we move into the post-pandemic period.
