Numerical Simulation of In-Flight Icing: Version Control, Verification and Validation
摘要
This chapter presents a systematic methodology for the Version Control, Verification and Validation (VVV) of CFD-based in-flight icing codes that provides a well-defined and controlled procedure ensuring accuracy, repeatability and traceability, whether for internal use or the acceptance procedures of certification authorities. It also serves as a rational approach to the comparison exercises that are periodically made between icing codes. The methodology is generic enough to apply to any CFD-based icing code be it 2-D or 3-D, based on finite volume, finite element or higher-order methods, and any type of grids be they Cartesian, structured, Chimera, unstructured, etc.
