摘要

The genera Idionyx Hagen, 1867, and Macromidia Martin, 1907, traditionally have been considered as belonging to the family Corduliidae, but recent phylogenetic studies based on morphological and molecular analyses consider them with uncertain position. Adults of Idionyx and Macromidia are strong fliers, mostly inhabiting fast-flowing streams, but also ponds in mountainous woodlands. Nymphs live under stones in riffles, in underwater plant roots, and amongst algae. Five species of Idionyx and two species of Macromidia occur in Thailand, with those of Idionyx having the widest distribution throughout the country.
