The Role of Individuals for Innovation: The Nuclear Medicine Biotope
摘要
Today’s ability of nuclear medicine to diagnostically image almost any physiological target and to translate the obtained diagnostic information into therapeutic interventions is founded on the combination multiple individual innovations in all areas of science. Since the inception of nuclear medicine in 1941, the basic methodologies of nuclide generation, radiochemistry, imaging physics, engineering and biomedical data analysis all had to be developed de novo. This article intends to synoptically highlight individual key contributions enabling current molecular imaging and radiotherapy.
