Pipeline Corrosion Management
摘要
Corrosion is one of the most important threats for pipeline integrity. This chapter presents methods to control external and internal corrosion that were discussed in a previous chapter. External corrosion is usually controlled by coatings and cathodic protection. Since coatings were previously presented in this book, this chapter explains how cathodic protection works and is maintained. Internal corrosion control methods will also be presented. Usually, it is performed by controlling the corrosive components of fluids that are transported by each pipeline. People can also add chemical products and biocides and run cleaning pigs to remove corrosive components.
