Pipeline integrity management depends on implementing systems to prevent products transported to leak into the environment. In order to assess the efficacy of these systems, pipelines are inspected The main goal of inspection is to assess if wall thickness remains the same as designed or at least in a safe condition. This chapter presents the two more used methods in the industry: smart pigs and direct assessment.
