Beginning with the SCADA basic definitions, the paper navigates through the evolutionary journey of SCADA systems, tracing their transformation from monolithic structures to the sophisticated, decentralized architectures of the present day. The key role of telecommunications principles in enabling seamless data exchange within SCADA networks is explored, emphasizing their contribution to system efficiency and reliability.
