Robotic Right Colectomy: The Bottom-Up Approach
摘要
Robotic right colectomy with complete mesocolic excision and bottom-up suprapubic approach may potentially allow for a safe extended lymphadenectomy by providing high-quality surgical specimens and intact visceral embryological envelopes. Robotic technology may potentially increase the diffusion of minimally invasive surgery and lower intraoperative and postoperative complication rates, thus reducing length of hospital stay. Although the learning curve has often been reported to be shorter when compared to that of conventional laparoscopy, defining structured training programs and learning modules is essential for the safe adoption of the technology.
