Teaching Geriatrics in Alternative Care Settings (Including Assisted Living Facilities and PACE)
摘要
Older adults can receive care in a variety of settings outside of hospitals, clinics, and nursing facilities. These include assisted living facilities (ALFs), board and care homes (also known as group homes), retirement communities, and PACE (Programs of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) organizations. Each of these settings offers a unique opportunity to teach learners of all levels about the various types of services, housing, medical care delivery models, and health care plans available to older adults.
