Knowledge Inequality
摘要
This chapter will discuss the knowledge inequality, focusing scientific knowledge and its importance to the production of social and economic differences among individuals, groups, companies and countries. Attention is given to the dynamics of contemporary capitalism that are based on the new logics of production, circulation and appropriation of knowledge. In this sense, the post-industrial and knowledge society is discussed, the differences between centre and periphery in the international division of knowledge, the knowledge economy and its socio-cognitive consequences that the inequality of expertise has for contemporary democratic processes.
